Delightfully funny and bittersweet, heartbreaking yet ultimately uplifting, The One Hundred Years of Lenni and Margot reminds us of the preciousness of life as it considers the legacy we choose to leave, how we influence the lives of others even after we’re gone, and the wonder of a friendship that transcends time.
My Thoughts
When I was a little girl I used to spend a lot of time with my grandmother and she would tell me stories from when she was a child, teenager and young adult. This book made me reminisce about those times I had with my Grandmother and that is what captured me and transported me into this book. I knew from then forward I was going to love it.
Don’t get me wrong, this isn’t about a Grandparent/Grandchild relationship per se.
Lenni is a dying 17 year old and Margot is a dying 83 year old. Together, they have lived one hundred years and within the pages of this book you read stories they share of their lives. They make you laugh, cry, and feel everything a lifetime should.
I could not put this book down and I didn’t want to. This was my first book of the year that I gave a high rating and I absolutely recommend it.
Can I simply just say what a relief to uncover someone that truly understands what theyre talking about online. You certainly realize how to bring a problem to light and make it important. A lot more people have to check this out and understand this side of your story. I was surprised you arent more popular given that you definitely have the gift.
A motivating discussion is definitely worth comment. Theres no doubt that that you need to write more on this subject matter, it may not be a taboo matter but generally folks dont discuss such subjects. To the next! Kind regards!!
Good post. I learn something totally new and challenging on websites I stumbleupon every day. Its always exciting to read articles from other writers and practice a little something from other sites.
